Announcing the 2013 Season!
Summer is nearly back, so make your plans now to visit one of the most spectacular summer locations on the planet... the Little Traverse Bay area of northwestern Michigan. The last two summers while the rest of the country has sweltered under record heat, Bay View has remained temperate and refreshingly cool. This, when combined with an incredible festival season with over 50 public events and an invigorating Chautauqua environment, means you'll be surrounded by 8 weeks of world-class repertoire ranging from classical to pops, and from jazz to opera.
This year, we offer an exciting blend of four different visiting artists to balance the nearly nightly entertainment provided by the Bay View faculty and college musicians who are studying with us throughout the summer. These artists will include comedian Paul Reiser; a tribute to the nearly three decades of Grammy-nominated hits from the band Chicago; Dave Brubeck's son Chris Brubeck, along with his trio called Triple Play; and a cirque du soleil-style show called Circurious that will merge live music with jugglers, aerialists, magicians, and a host of other talented performers for a sensory feast. This, combined with faculty artist chamber music concerts every Wednesday night, our Sunday pops series at 8pm, a fully staged musical and opera, and you've got plenty of options to enjoy after a long day on the boat. Tickets will be available on or before May 7, so check back!
